Flu

Last Friday I came home from school at lunchtime. Aching and not able to stay awake. I took some nyquil and slept. I woke up at 4:30 feeling much worse but the dr. was closed. And the emergency number said I could go to the emergency room but they could not give me advice over the phone. I was having a hard time breathing. I found another drs. office open in the evenings and called to see if they would cover my insurance. Will took me over by this time I had found my themometor and had a 102 degree fever. I was laying in the waiting room for my turn. By the time they took my tempurature it had gone up to 103. She said she really thinks I had the flu. I told them I had been tested for it a couple weeks ago and it was negative. She said a lot of the tests were coming back negative because of a new strand. I was not thrilled about another flu test but to my relief she said if I didn't care and was fine with the diagnosis I didn't need one and she said if it came back negative that is still what she was sure it was since it came on so suddenly. She wrote my prescriptions and asked where they should be sent. At this time walgreens and walmart were the only places open. We said walgreens because we were right beside it and I needed it quick and to get home. We were at walgreens at least 40 minutes. Not sure what my fever got up to in that time. I was miserable. I could not stand up and they called me twice and could ot get things in the computer right. We went home and ate and I took some medicine. The next several days was spent very sick in the stomach until I realized the medicine may cause nausea and vomitting. I had to eat like a pig for it not. So I spent the rest of the days eating every few hours and making sure I was very full before taking the medicine. Monday, I felt a little better and did a few things around the house. Tues. I woke up with my eyes stuck closed so I rubber them. And I felt awful all day. That evening we went back to the dr. I was sure I had pink eye. She said that I did and they weer seeing a lot of it with this new strand of flu. So more medicine. I also asked about my stopped up ear she seemed to think once the congestion was gone it would get better. Wed. I woke up with both eyes stuck together. I didn't rub them this time but got a warm cloth. I still was not feeling well. So Wed. afternoon I called and said I would not be at school Thurs. Either. My eyes seems to be holding out ok. we will see if they have anything in them in the morning. But I am feeling a lot better. Still not 100%. But if all goes well after tonight I should be back at school for Friday. After Monday even if I started feeling better I have not done much. Watched several movies and decided to reread Harry Potter. It is really interesting starting back at the beginning after knowing the whole story. And so far I have not been bored. How quickly I forget the first book. So hopefully this is the last of my illnesses for a while. I had been to the dr 4 times in the past month and a half.
