Thursday and Friday were the fall art conference for teachers in Arkansas. This year I was a presenter. I presented a hands on workshop on recycled art studying Louise Nevelson. I also presented a powerpoint about Passport to art. I showed the art teachers several projects we have done studying art from different cultures and showed them how each student made a self portrait and uses it as a journal of what we study. They include a drawing of the flag of each country we visit. The countries name, the date, the artist we are studying, and one fact they learn about that country or artist. I will be presenting both of these ideas at the Spring National conference in March in New Orleans.
