Bald Knob School District is in need of your prayers and help. In April we were put in Fiscal Distress. On Wednesday night someone from the state came and talked with us. He showed us how our balances have declined over the past several years. There are different things that have contributed to this. But the bottom line is by the end of this coming school year we are projected to be 2 million dollars in the hole. We think the state is going to take some pretty drastic measures very shortly unless a pretty sturdy plan shows it is in place of getting the money. The community has decided to set up a fund. The S.O.S. fund. this will be collected and stored at a local bank. If the State allows the district to remain open and known as Bald Knob. This money will then be dispersed. More information should be available by monday. But rumor has it we will need $700,000 by sometime mid September and the two million by April. This money will be Tax Deductible and they will be keeping track of it, if it comes down to the fact that the school will not remain open and unconcolidated all the funds will be returned. Many of the teachers I work with have graduated from Bald knob, and have kids and grandkids there. Citizen's Bank in Bald Knob is holding the account. I can't remember the contact guys name. Checks can also be sent. Attn: Connie Cox, HL Lubker Elementary, 103 West Park, Bald Knob, AR 72010. This is a big district and I have loved working for them.
