Mesa Verde and Moab, UT

We left Durango and headed West. We found a shop where they sold Native American things and Will got shot by a huge arrow. I finally found an affordable authentic Navajo Weaving. it is about 9 x 12 inches.

We then made our way to Mesa Verde. This was a really neat National Park. Will loved reading about the history in the museum. While I was ready to see the cliff dwellings. We got to get really close to one and even take a ladder down to their Kiva. This is a little room they used for worship. It was dark and very dusty. And there is one ladder to go up and down. People kept coming down and we never thought we would make it back up. There was only one Cliffdwelling that was open and we were able to walk up close to. The rest we saw from very far at least a football field length away. Though when you view our yahoo photos they will look closer. At the one point we were looking they said there were 34 in the cliffs i think I counted about 13. It was amazing to us how they were able to crawl up that high in the middle of a cliff.

We then headed for Utah and both loved the huge rock formations. We found Wilson Arch along the road on our way to Moab and had to climb it in honor of Laurie and Todd. We stayed at a campground in a little cabin that had a double bunk bed. We slept on the top. We thought it would be warmer. It was very cold when we arrived and all we had was a space heater which was not turned on. it actually got really warm during the night.
